At the meeting, General Vinh was briefed on the general department’s task performance this year.
Specifically, the agency has effectively given advice to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on weaponry, equipment and technical services.

It has also directed the military technical sector to comprehensively carry out missions related to ensuring good technical conditions for weapons and equipment meeting the requirement of military units for training, exercises, combat readiness, search and rescue, and for ensuring safety and security during big festivals and events, including Party congresses, as well as for the task of safeguarding national maritime sovereignty.
In addition, the general department has also led its affiliates to promote preservation, management, maintenance, improvement, and the mastering of weapons and technical equipment in a safe and effective manner.
In 2021, the General Department of Technical Services will continue to embrace the Party’s resolutions and directives and Fatherland protection missions in the current situation. It will also actively give recommendations to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on weaponry, equipment and technical affairs, and direct its affiliates to implement technical work as planned with absolute safety and high quality.
Moreover, it will carry out projects and plans and ensure high quality weapons and equipment for various missions of military units. Additionally, it will continue to give assistance to the technical sectors of the Lao People’s Armed Forces and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
Concluding the working session, General Vinh asked the general department to continue to effectively perform its assigned missions, fix remaining shortcomings, and open more training courses to improve the professional expertise of those related to technical services.
