Over the past 80 years, the Military Guard-of-Honor Battalion has always fulfilled its duties in serving ceremonies of the Party, State, and military, as well as performing military band and cultural activities. It has also remained ready to safeguard the Party, the socialist political system, and the people.

In the past five years, the unit has engaged in more than 100 welcoming ceremonies for visiting heads of state and high-ranking military delegations, over 80 visits by Party and State leaders, and successfully carried out over 900 ceremonial missions for central agencies and military units.
Addressing the event, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Hien praised generations of the battalion's officers and soldiers for their professionalism, discipline, and devotion, which have left strong impressions on both the Vietnamese people and international friends. He called on the troops to further strengthen political steadfastness, absolute loyalty to the Party and the people, and readiness to fulfill all assigned tasks.

The defense leader urged the unit to focus on excellently performing ceremonial duties during the upcoming 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, and the 80th founding anniversary of the General Staff.
He also emphasized the importance of modernizing and standardizing national and military ceremonial practices, combining Vietnam’s cultural traditions with the international cultural quintessence to ensure solemnity, modernity, and national identity.
