PANO – The Ministry of National Defence on September 30th held a video conference on the implementation of Directive 01/CT-TTg issued on September 1st 2015 by the Prime Minister. This is the directive of “The organization of the militia force in the protection of national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new period.”

According to the Border Guard Command, over the past years the mobilization of the masses in management and control of the border and border markers, and in maintaining security and order, has brought about practical results in building a border of peace, contributing to firm defence and security dispositions.
The movement has also helped effectively solve many complicated incidents and contributed to raising the awareness and responsibility of the masses of border protection, strengthening the great national unity, military-civilian solidarity and relationships with neighbouring people, building a border of peace, friendship and development.
Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister, hailed the efforts of the Border Guard troops and related sectors and units in border management.
The Chief of the General Staff required that relevant sectors and units, with the Border Guard Command playing the key role, are to closely coordinate and actively support relevant Party organizations so that Directive 01/CT-TTg can be successfully implemented in the coming time.
