Addressing the event, the unit’s Second-in-Command in Charge of Law Major General Vu Trung Kien pointed out the aims and significance of the third Vietnam - China young coast guard officer exchange. This is part of a series of external affairs and international cooperation activities of the Vietnam Coast Guard. Therefore, it also holds political significance, contributing to enhancing and deepening the sound cooperation between the two forces, paving the way for bilateral cooperation programs at higher levels in the time to come.

The exchange is scheduled to take place from August 14 to 18 with many activities, such as paying courtesy call on the leaders of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, visiting fishing villages, joining hands to protect the environment, talks and exchanges between the two forces, among others.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command has selected 25 outstanding officers to participate in the event. Besides, it has also sent troops and liaison officers to prepare for the exchange with absolute safety.

Gen. Kien requested them to be well aware of the importance as well as their responsibility during the exchange.

In addition to strictly following military regulations and discipline, the participating troops should overcome difficulties and try their best and be determined to accomplish all assigned missions.

On August 1 and 2, the delegation were equipped with knowledge on reception, external affairs, security protection and toured some locations where activities will be taken place within the framework of the exchange.
