According to the central report at the conference, during the first half of 2023, the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee and Command thoroughly grasped all situations, focused on key political tasks, and excellently completed their missions. The Vietnam Coast Guard Command maintained strict combat readiness at all levels, provided timely advice for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to actively handle issues at sea. The unit implemented plans for the coast guard force with good quality, prevented illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, and fought against crimes, especially drug-related crimes at sea.
In his speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau highly appreciated the role of the coast guard force over the past time, especially in the first half of 2023. At the same time, he requested the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee and Command to continue giving recommendations to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Staff of the Vietnamese People's Army to enhance synergy and combat readiness of the entire force, focus on search and rescue operations and consider them as the key task of the coast guard force in peacetime.

In addition, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command needs to quickly appoint the missing positions according to the plan, prepare well for the 25th anniversary of the Coast Guard Foundation Day, organize the third Vietnam-China young coast guard officers exchange program in 2023, closely coordinate with other forces, enhance information exchange, prevent foreign ships from encroaching on seas and islands, protect the country's maritime economic activities, and fight against illegal fishing.
