Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Truong Son attended and directed the exercise.

The live-fire exercise was designed to assess pilots’ proficiency in combat flight operations and ground-attack missions during the day and at night. It also evaluated the ability of commanding officers, pilots, and flight crews to organize and direct operations and coordinate combat missions involving weapons. The exercise was also aimed at helping improve the units’ proficiency, combat readiness, and combat capabilities in the coming period.

According to the exercise’s Steering Committee, the fighter and helicopter pilots demonstrated confidence and strong psychological resilience, accurately executed the required attack procedures, and successfully completed their missions while ensuring absolute safety. Several pilots participating in live-fire exercises for the first time successfully destroyed their targets, demonstrating the professionalism, capabilities, and growing maturity of the young pilot force.
