PAN’s newly-appointed leaders undertake missions
PANO – General Luong Cuong, Secretary of the Central Party Committee and Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP), chaired a handover ceremony of the duty of Editor-in-Chief and Secretary of the Party Committee of the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) on February 26.
The ceremony was also attended by Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, GDP’s Deputy Director, representatives of relevant agencies and the People’s Army Newspaper.
At the event, delegates listened to reports related to the handover and the task performance results of the PAN.
They also witnessed the signing of the minutes of the handovers between Major General Pham Van Huan and Senior Colonel Doan Xuan Bo, and between General General Pham Van Huan and Senior Colonel Do Phu Tho.
Accordingly, Senior Colonel Doan Xuan Bo took on the role of PAN’s temporary Editor-in-Chief instead of Major General Pham Van Huan starting March 1. Meanwhile, Senior Colonel Do Phu Tho is now the Secretary of the PAN’s Party Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Cuong highly appreciated PAN’s preparation for the handover, adding that the newspaper has always fulfilled its assigned missions and received good recommendations from leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense as well as readers across the country.
He also highlighted contributions of General Huan and Senior Colonel Phung Kim Lan - Vice Editor-in-Chief, during their terms of office and hoped that the officers will continue promoting their good virtues to fulfill their upcoming tasks.
On the other hand, the GDP’s Director required the PAN’s newly-appointed leaders to bring into play the achievements of the newspaper over the past time while increasingly enhancing its functions of information dissemination and public orientation as well as to take care of troops and employees.
