Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Luong Cuong attended the ceremony. The event also saw the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.
Over the past years, under the close attention of the Party, State, CMC, MND, GDP, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, party committees and chains-of-commands at all levels, youth work and movements in the military have been promoted in a comprehensive manner, and all assigned tasks have been completed, creating an ideal learning environment for young troops via revolutionary action movements.

Military youths have overcome difficulties and challenges and upheld their vanguard role and creative spirit to fulfill tasks of training, combat readiness, scientific research, and maintenance of logistics supplies and technical services. They have actively participated in production activities, mass mobilization work, search and rescue operations inside and outside the country, defense external relation activities and U.N. peacekeeping operations, among others.
Through these activities, the military has selected and honored 45 outstanding and promising young faces in the whole military for their contribution to military and defense work in 2023.
Speaking at the event, representatives of the 45 honored youths shared experiences in studying, training and working, as well as expressed their gratitude for the close attention of the CMC, MND, GDP, GS, leaders and commanders of agencies and units. Moreover, they promised to devote their talent and creativity to accomplishing all assignments, contributing to building a healthy and strong Party organization and a comprehensively strong, typical and exemplary unit.
Recognizing the profound achievements and contributions of the outstanding young military faces in 2023, the MND handed over decisions on rank promotion, military recruitment, and a salary increase ahead of time to four youths.
At the ceremony, ten outstanding and 35 promising young faces in the whole military in 2023 received certificates of merit from the Defense Minister and the GDP Chief, respectively.
