General Staff honors outstanding young faces
PANO - The General Staff held a ceremony to honor nine outstanding young faces in 2023 and 16 individuals with excellent achievements in the 23rd Military Creative Youth Award on the evening of March 21.
In his speech, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Staff - Organs of the Ministry of National Defense, applauded the youths for their achievements gained over the past time.

He asked Youth Union organizations, their cadres and members to continue to bring into play the glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The deputy chief of the General Staff urged them to be more pro-active and creative to victoriously complete their duties; enhance emulation movements; constantly diverse operation activities to make them effective and practical; be a key force in performing missions; and make contribution to building strong Party organizations, comprehensively-strong, exemplary and typical agencies and units.
Over the past time, youths of the General Staff have carried out a number of effective activities. Last year, many collectives and individuals were awarded. Particularly, two groups received certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh Community Youth Union Central Committee. Four collectives were honored with the flags of the General Department of Political Affairs and two individuals were titled “Potential young faces of the military.”

Attentively, the General Staff’s youths won two first, five second, nine third and four consolation prizes at the 23rd Military Creative Youth Award. In terms of sports, young officers of the General Staff won 751 medals, including 65 regional- and international-level ones.
