Naval troops in combat readiness training
PANO - Brigade 162 regularly conducts surface-to-surface and surface-to-air combat drills to hone their troops' skills and mastery of materiel.
In a small compartment, non-commissioned Captain Pham Van Chi received orders “Load the torpedo” from the captain of Ship 016-Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4. Thirty seconds later, non-commissioned Captain Bui Sy Tang bent over and readied the torpedo, with a diameter of nearly 1m, a length of 10m and a weight of nearly 1,000 kg, ready to fire. Captain Chi then reported, “Ready to fire!” They completed the mission in less than one minute.
This is one of the surface-to-surface and surface-to-air combat drills regularly conducted by Brigade 162 at sea. In order to well perform the mission, naval troops must practice hard regardless of harsh weather conditions. In narrow compartments, troops always remain high alert, stay focused to collect information, and timely detect the enemy’s tricks to destroy the targets accurately.
The People’s Army Newspaper would like to introduce some images featuring troops of Brigade 162 during combat readiness training at sea.
