Vietnamese, Chinese naval troops conduct joint patrol
PANO – The Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) and the China People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) successfully conducted their 30th joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin on June 24 and 25.
The VPN deployed two patrol ships, 266 and 267, while the PLAN sent ships 520 and 552 to the joint patrol.

During the patrol, the Vietnamese and Chinese naval forces patrolled along a 300-nautical-mile long stretch of sea in the Gulf of Tonkin and implemented contents such as information sharing, search and rescue missions, to name but a few.
Despite bad weather and strong waves, the joint patrol ended successfully and safely.
The organization of joint patrols aims to maintain order and security in the shared maritime area in the Gulf of Tonkin and implement the Vietnam-China fishery cooperation agreement.
