More opinions contributed to national border protection strategy
PANO – The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a scientific workshop on July 24 to contribute opinions to the draft of the national border protection strategy.
Chaired by Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich, the workshop was attended by high-ranking officers of the MND and former leaders of the MND as well as experts, scientists and representatives from relevant agencies under the MND. Having been briefed on the draft strategy by the Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, participants started making contributions to the draft.

They all affirmed the important role of the national border protection strategy in the cause of safeguarding and building of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The strategy is the concretization of the eighth resolution of the 11th Party Central Committee titled “National safeguarding strategy in the new context,” the National Defense Strategy of Vietnam, the Military Strategy of Vietnam, the National Security Strategy, the Foreign Relations strategy, etc., in line with the Constitution and law of Vietnam as well as international conventions and law…
Addressing the workshop, General Ngo Xuan Lich thanked the MND present and former leaders, senior officers, representatives from relevant agencies of the MND, experts and scientists for their contributed opinions. The minister asked the compilation committee to carefully study the opinions to complete the draft strategy to submit to CMC and MND leaders for consideration prior to the submission to the Politburo for approval in the coming time.
