Most projects honored at the 25th Military Creative Youth Awards have since been applied in practice with high effectiveness, particularly in training, combat readiness, medical care, teaching, and production and business activities.

A notable example is the “Research and development of a 5G gNodeB base station supporting up to eight transmit and receive antennas (8T8R)” project by researchers from Viettel High Tech under the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel). After winning the first prize at the 25th awards, the project was quickly deployed on a broad scale. The research team continued to improve, optimize the technology and gradually bring the product to international markets. The project has contributed to making Viet Nam one of the few countries in the world capable of mastering 5G equipment manufacturing technology, demonstrating its capacity to research, design, and manufacture high-tech products under Vietnamese brands.
Other projects involving weapons and military equipment have also continued to receive in-depth research and investment after winning awards, generating savings of hundreds of billions of Viet Nam dong for the state budget. They include research and design of proximity fuzes for 122mm, 130mm, and 152mm high-explosive fragmentation artillery shells by the Institute of Weapons, and research, design, and manufacture of a launcher system and smoke ammunition for protecting the XCB-01 infantry fighting vehicle by Z121 Factory under the General Department of Defense Industry.
The 26th Military Creative Youth Awards featured 896 projects from 42 units across 12 fields, an increase of 76 projects from the previous edition. Maj. Gen., Ph.D. Duong Minh Hai, Director of the Department of Military Science under the Ministry of National Defense and Vice Chairman of the Awards Council, said a key feature of this year's entries was the shift from applying technology to mastering technology. Many projects have adopted interdisciplinary approaches, combining artificial intelligence, big data, automation, biotechnology, and new materials with military science while addressing requirements for scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation.

The quality of the projects has also improved. Among them is the project by Maj. Le Minh Dong of the Military Technical Academy. He has successfully researched and applied lanthanide complexes as fluorescent sensors for detecting organophosphorus nerve agents, contributing to efforts to counter chemical weapons and protect troops in modern combat conditions.
The achievements of the Military Creative Youth Awards stem from the leadership and direction of party committees and chains-of-command at all levels, as well as young service members' passion for research, commitment to self-study and self-improvement, and willingness to think boldly and take action. At units such as the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, General Department of Defense Industry, Military Medical University, Military Political Academy, Logistics Academy, Viettel, and Command 86, their participation in the awards has become an important part of scientific research and technical innovation.
At the 26th awards, 473 of the 896 submitted projects were selected for recognition. Sr. Col. Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the Awards Council, said the results reflected both the improved quality of research and the increasingly broad, substantive, and effective development of the “Youth Innovation” movement across the military. Many projects were self-funded by the research teams, demonstrating military youth's spirit of self-reliance and passion for science.
Going forward, the awards councils at all levels will continue implementing the Party's, Central Military Commission's, and Ministry of National Defense's policies on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, with a focus on the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 12th Military Party Congress, Conclusion No.166-KL/TW dated June 10, 2025, and the Politburo's Resolution No.57-NQ/TW and CMC Resolution No.3488-NQ/QUTW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

They will also promote investment in infrastructure and appropriate mechanisms and policies, creating favorable conditions for cadres and young service members to propose ideas, test new approaches, and turn ideas into products. Research results will be further integrated into practical applications so that completed projects can be tested in appropriate real-world environments, demonstrating their value while helping researchers identify new issues and continue improving their work.
The quality of projects and the evaluation and award processes will also be further improved to ensure comprehensive assessment of each project's novelty, scientific value, applicability, and practical effectiveness.
