Military Youth Advisory Board trains young officers ahead of up-coming exchange in Cambodia
PANO - On July 19 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Military Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) held a training session for the Vietnam People’s Army young officer delegation in preparation for an exchange program in Cambodia scheduled for July 20 to 26.
The event was chaired by Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board. Attendees included representatives and young officers from various units across the military.

During the session, officers from the Defense Ministry’s Department of Foreign Relations and the GDP’s Department of Internal Security Protection briefed the delegation on key foreign affairs protocols. They emphasized the strict observance of regulations to ensure absolute safety across all aspects before, during, and after the trip.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy outlined the 2026 Vietnam - Cambodia Young Officer Exchange Program, detailing the mission’s objectives and equipping the trainees with essential skills for their activities in the host country.

Additionally, the delegates received specific instructions on preparing passports, luggage, and military gear. They were also briefed on regulations regarding making statements, providing information, and giving interviews to foreign press agencies; principles of unofficial interactions with the host; and diplomatic etiquette. Procedures for reporting and handling unexpected situations were also covered to ensure a safe, efficient, and successful mission.
