Authorized by leaders of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs, Deputy Director of the Department of Policy-Social Affairs Senior Colonel Ngo Thi Le chaired the meeting.
At the event, Huynh Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province, reported on several results in providing care and implementing policies for wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ families, and national contributors in the province.

Addressing the meeting, Sr. Col. Ngo Thi Le said that in implementing the Party and State’s policy for people with meritorious service to the revolution, the Central Military Commission and the MND have in recent years consistently regarded caring for these people as both a political responsibility and a sacred moral obligation embodied in the traditions of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Gratitude-paying.” They have regularly directed and guided the MND’s functional agencies to work closely with relevant agencies of central bodies, ministries, sectors, and localities to study and propose that the Party and State amend existing regulations and promptly promulgate and supplement numerous documents governing benefits and policies for national contributors.
She emphasized the military’s comprehensive implementation of many practical activities, including providing care and support for heroic Vietnamese mothers; visiting and presenting gifts to wounded and sick soldiers at rehabilitation centers for national contributors; visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiary families; building gratitude houses; and constructing, embellishing, and restoring memorial works dedicated to fallen service members.

Sr. Col. Ngo Thi Le expressed profound gratitude for the great contribution and sacrifices of heroes and fallen soldiers, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and individuals and families with meritorious service to the revolution in Dong Thap province. She expressed her appreciation to the Party committees, authorities, armed forces, and people of Dong Thap province for their attention to effectively implementing policies and gratitude activities, particularly their provision of information and support for the search for and recovery of martyrs’ remains and their care for the lives of national contributors in the province.
She asked the Dong Thap provincial Department of Home Affairs to continue paying greater attention to caring for national contributors and ensuring that policies for them are implemented fully and promptly, particularly during the celebrations of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
At the meeting, Sr. Col. Ngo Thi Le presented 70 gift packages from the MND to national contributors from Dong Thap province.
