PANO - Eighteen military universities will enroll 4,869 students this year, attaining 100.08 per cent of the set targets, as revealed at the meeting of the Ministry of National Defence’s Military Enrollment Board on August 24th.

The meeting was presided over by Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Deputy Defence Minister and Head of the Board.

Reportedly, the enrollment of students in 2015 was carried out proactively, and taken very seriously by military units, academies and universities. Pre-selection was completed on time, applications were checked closely and the overall quality of students has been raised.

Nearly 40,000 students registered in the pre-selection round, while 12,827 students filled in the applications for the first selection round. The selection was conducted publicly, democratically, transparently, propitiously and stably.

At the meeting, the board discussed and agreed on the reference point from which students could be selected to be admitted to military schools.

In his closing speech, General Ty hailed related units for their efforts in enrollment performance. He asked universities to make public the list of successful students and to summon them to the start of the new academic year as regulated.

He also requested army hospitals to closely check the health of enrolled students and related units to draw lessons from the enrollment.
