During his working visit with the Yen Bai provincial Military Command’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command, General Cuong acknowledged their achievements in implementing military and defense work over the past time. Accordingly, the province has overcome difficulties to fulfill its socio-economic development goals, in line with enhancing defense-security task... The command has actively given proposals to local authorities in terms of military and defense affairs, especially in directing defensive area building.

General Cuong also affirmed that the province holds strategic position in defense and security posture in the country’s northwestern region in general and in Military Region 2 in particular. Thus, the Yen Bai provincial Military Command’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command should continuously grasp and effectively implement higher levels’ resolutions, projects and strategies on defense.
He also requested them to closely work with the province’s functional agencies in carrying out the Prime Minister’s decision on planning Yen Bai province in the 2021-2030 period with the vision to 2050, while seriously ensuring the strict implementation of regulation building, discipline observance, and building a comprehensively strong Party Committee .
He took this occasion to express thanks to authorities and people in Yen Bai province for creating favorable conditions for Military Region 2 and the provincial Military Command to successfully conduct their assigned tasks over the past time. He urged the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee to further promote military-civilian ties as well as combine socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security, making contribution to realizing targets set in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the province’s 19th Party Congress.
During his visit to Regiment 174, General Cuong asked the unit’s troops to continue to uphold their tradition, maintain combat readiness, work with local authorities to boost the mass mobilization task, and support local needy residents, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the current context.
At the same time, General Cuong underlined that the regiment’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command should strictly conduct the Party building and rectification work in line with rolling out the Central Military Commission’s Resolution No.847 on promoting the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and resolutely fighting individualism in the new situation; and heighten troops’ political stance and promote internal solidarity and unity.
Previously, at the working session with the Standing Board of the Military Region 2’s Party Committee, General Cuong requested them to further direct affiliated units in grasping and implementing combat readiness to be ready in any circumstances, particularly in response to natural disasters and search and rescue missions. Meanwhile, they should instruct units to strengthen their personnel organization and quality, observe military discipline and regulations, and foster political and ideological education for troops.

In addition, General Cuong also mapped out several major issues to help the Standing Board of Military Region 2’s Party Committee study and implement in reality during their leadership in the second half of this year. In which, he stressed that the Military Region 2’s Party Committee and Command should effectively carry out the Politburo’s Resolution No.11-NQ/TW on developing northern midland and mountainous region by 2030 with the vision to 2045, contributing to building up the economy and strengthening the defense-security posture of Military Region 2’s localities.
