During the inspection, members of the mission underlined that, in the first nine months of this year, the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command fulfilled their assigned tasks, firmly contributing to protecting the national sovereignty over sea, islands and land.

At the same time, local border guard units well mobilized local people to observe and implement guidelines and viewpoints of the Party and policies and laws of the State; raised people’s awareness of joining hands in safeguarding the national borderline and learning about other related documents; and persuaded fishermen in realizing regulations on preventing illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Furthermore, for the first nine months of the year, the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command has seriously carried out combat readiness training, completing 100% of the content of the training plan, ensuring absolute safety of personnel and weapons.

Members of the mission also pointed out several shortcomings in task implementation and asked the unit to take measures to address them.

In his speech, Major General Huu requested the Party Committee and Chain-of-command of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command to further beef up inspection in all fields of task performance, continue to raise troops’ political stance, carry out training contents as scheduled, and pay due attention to building healthy, strong Party organizations and comprehensively strong and exemplary units.
