Brigade 170 under the Naval Region 1 Command organized visits and presented gifts from the State President, the Naval Service, and the Naval Region 1 Command to families of heroes of the People’s Armed Forces Tran Xuan Ho and Do Viet Cuong, and to relatives of fallen soldiers, who are working at the unit.

The brigade also worked with local authorities in Ha Tu ward, Quang Ninh province to present 10 gifts to disadvantaged national contributors, and support ill or hospitalized soldiers.

In partnership with BIDV’s Quang Ninh branch, the brigade gave 34 more gift sets, totally worth VND 36 million, to relatives of wounded and sick soldiers and martyrs. Officers and Youth Union members of the unit also cleaned and decorated the local war cemetery and participated in a candlelight vigil in tribute to national heroes and martyrs.

Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Deputy Political Commissar of the brigade, emphasized that these activities aimed to educate younger generations about the tradition of honoring past sacrifices, so that they would strive to further study and train and excellently complete all assignments.

Meanwhile, on July 27, Corps 15’s affiliates, namely Company 732 and Military Hospital 15, jointly provided free health check-ups and medicines to over 500 policy beneficiaries and poor households in Sa Loong, Bo Y and Ko Roi communes in Quang Ngai province. They also presented 75 gifts to local needy families.

In total, this year, in commemoration of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day, Corps 15 has provided 800 gifts and free medical care to over 1,000 people across Gia Lai and Quang Ngai provinces, with a combined value exceeding VND 550 million. Additionally, the corps has handed over hundreds of gratitude houses to local disadvantaged families according to the national program of eliminating substandard houses.

Under - the “gratitude-paying” program launched by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, 116 gifts, valued at VND 54 million in total, were presented to wounded soldiers and martyrs’ families and national contributors in Da Nang city, Quang Tri and Quang Ngai province.

The command also visited and gave VND 50 million in gifts to five heroic Vietnamese mothers under their care, and presented gifts to wounded, sick soldiers and national contributors cared for at Da Nang municipal and Quang Ngai provincial convalescent centers.

Notably, a get-together was held for 132 relatives of martyrs and wounded and sick soldiers serving in the command, during which the host expressed enduring gratitude for past sacrifices.

Free health check-ups and medicines were also provided to residents in remote coastal communes, while local youth and coast guards jointly upgraded eight cemeteries and three war memorials.

These activities have contributed to promoting military-civilian bonds and maintaining all-people defense and people’s security posture at sea.
