PANO - Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Capital Party Committee, on January 9th led a delegation to visit Submarine Brigade 189 and the HQ-82 - Hanoi, a Kilo-class 636 submarine.

In his talk with the brigade’s troops, the Hanoi leader congratulated the army and the Navy, especially the brigade and the Hanoi’s crew on receiving and initially mastering and exploiting the modern submarine, contributing to improving the combat strength of the heroic Vietnam People’s Navy.

He added that the capital’s citizens are proud that name of the capital of Hanoi is chosen for the first advanced submarine of the Navy, regarding it as a special factor tightening the close ties between the Navy and the capital.

As the Lunar New Year is coming, the Secretary of Hanoi Capital Party Committee wished the brigade’s troops and the submarine crew, with their solidarity, strong will and bravery, efficiently mastering military equipment, in contribution to firmly protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, and promised to create more favourable conditions for the submarine to fulfil its assigned missions.

On the occasion, the delegation presented VND 1.3 billion to the members of the submarine and Brigade 189.
