Authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc presented the First-class Feat-of-Arms Order to the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Second-class Feat-of-Arms Order to Lieutenant General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
Over the past 28 years, under the leadership and direction of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam Coast Guard has always heightened revolutionary vigilance, solidarity, and resilience. The force has closely coordinated with relevant agencies and units to take measures to safeguard sovereignty and ensure law enforcement at sea, effectively combat crimes and violations, and successfully carry out search and rescue, environmental protection at sea, and other important tasks.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc highly valued the Vietnam Coast Guard for its achievements over the past time.
He asked the unit to continue thoroughly implementing the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense’s guidelines and directives on safeguarding sovereignty and security over sea and islands. The Vietnam Coast Guard should strictly maintain combat readiness, pro-actively strengthen coordination, and contribute to building a firm all-people’s national defense posture at sea, ensuring the effective management and protection of the Fatherland’s maritime sovereignty in all situations.
The deputy defense minister also asked the force to build clean and strong Party organizations at all levels in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization, and personnel. The Vietnam Coast Guard should effectively fulfill its role as a working military and closely combine the safeguarding of sovereignty over sea and islands with marine economic development.
The force was also urged to actively coordinate with localities and relevant forces in natural disaster prevention and control, as well as search and rescue operations, thereby strengthening military-civilian solidarity and consolidating the “people’s heart posture” at sea.
