General Staff missions check units’ combat readiness ahead of Tet
PANO - Various missions from the General Staff inspected combat readiness posture at the Army Official Training School No 1, Division 316, the military commands of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Quang Ninh provinces and the Military Region 2 Command on January 16.
Having been briefed on the task performance last year and preparations for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival of the Army Official Training School No 1, Lt. Gen. Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff asked the school to promote training quality so that their graduates could become capable cadres in the future. Gen. Tien also extended Tet wishes to the school’s cadres, cadets and workers.
* Speaking highly of the combat readiness plans and observance of Division 316, the military commands of Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc provinces and the Military Region 2 Command, Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, requested the units to practice combat readiness and fire-fighting plans and organize a happy Tet for troops. The units were also reminded to keep a close watch on local situations to avoid being put in a passive or surprised position and to ensure social order and safety in the stationed areas.

Units should join hands with local authorities to carry out mass mobilization work and better the care for policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and poor households. Thus tightening the military-civilian ties and building a firm people’s heart disposition and a safe locality.
* Applauding the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command for their good outcomes in task implementation last year, Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff noted that the unit should make more proposals to the local Party Committees and authorities on local military-defense task, cooperate with local forces to ensure political security and social order and safety. Especially in border areas and on islands, so as to ensure a cozy Tet for local people and continue taking the lead in the “Determined to Win” emulation movement.
General Vinh wished the troops good health, solidarity and successes in task performance.
Also on January 16, Gen. Vinh extended Tet greetings to the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and Committee and Regiment 213 of Division 363 under the Air Defense-Air Force Service.
