General Phan Van Giang visits former defense leaders

They are Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and former Defense Minister General Pham Van Tra, former Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich, and Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and former Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy.

General Giang inquired after and wished the former defense leaders good health, and informed them about the outstanding achievements in the military and defense task performance of the whole military over the past time, and major tasks of the military in the time ahead.

He affirmed that over the year, the Central Military Commission, Defense Ministry directed the whole military to comprehensively fulfill assigned tasks, especially training and combat readiness work, helping people prevent, control and overcome consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their life, deserving to be the absolutely loyal political force of the Party, State and people, and a firm fulcrum for people.

Troops in the whole military always try their best to accomplish all assigned missions. The military also coordinated with functional forces to successfully organize the ceremony in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7), and a series of activities to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the VPA and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People Defense Festive Day, leaving a good impression on people and international friends.

General Giang took the occasion to wish the generals who are former defense leaders good health and happiness, hoping that they would make further contributions to the VPA’s building cause so that it would excellently fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
