Gen. Chien stressed that bilateral defense cooperation has been promoted practically, becoming an important pillar in the two countries’ relations and in accordance with the common perceptions reached by the two parties and states’ senior leaders.

He took this time to express thanks to China for preserving historical sites with close attachment to the revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh and other former leaders of Vietnam in China, saying that it clearly demonstrates the close bonds between Vietnam and China as comrades and brothers.
The Vietnamese defense leader suggested the two sides continue to accelerate bilateral defense relations in a more intensive, substantive and effective manner, with a focus on high and all-level delegation exchanges, maintenance of the defense strategic dialogue at deputy-minister level, and gratitude activities for Chinese veterans and experts.

Gen. Chien also informed that the Vietnamese Defense Ministry is going to upgrade tombs of Chinese military troops and experts with contributions to the Vietnamese revolution.
He hoped to welcome leaders of the Central Military Commission and Defense Ministry of China in Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People Defense Festive Day, and the second Vietnam International Defense Expo, slated for this month.
For his part, Ambassador He Wei laid stress on the importance of the bilateral defense cooperation in the general bilateral relationship. He expressed his delight at the development and good results of the bilateral defense ties over the past time.
