The delegation was accompanied by Deputy Chief of the General Staff and head of the organizing panel Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan.
Accordingly, General Chien checked preparations for the opening ceremony of the expo, which will take place on December 19; and then gave comments on the artistic performance program at the opening ceremony.
Reportedly, the opening ceremony will feature performances by 2,150 officers and soldiers from various military units. The hour-long event will include 30 minutes for artistic performance program and 30 minutes for the main ceremony.

The opening ceremony also includes an air show by the Vietnamese air force, martial arts demonstrations by commandos, and service dog exercises by the Vietnam Border Guard Command. Among them, the air show will feature 10 Su-30MK2 fighter jets and 10 helicopters in a 3-4-3 formation.
In his speech, General Chien affirmed that apart from exhibition spaces and different activities within the expo, the opening ceremony is also considered a highlight of the event. Under the theme “Vietnam – Peace, Cooperation, and Development,” the opening ceremony is expected to send a meaningful message of peace, cooperation, and development by the host country to international friends.

General Chien highly applauded efforts of forces to train hard for the expo’s opening ceremony. He asked them to further raise their responsibility to prepare for a rehearsal this weekend, which will see the presence of the defense minister.
The deputy defense minister shared that so far, the expo has already received official registrations from 53 international delegations. At the same time, he stressed the importance of the expo as it will be held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People Defense Festive Day.

During the inspection, General Chien also urged relevant agencies and forces to closely work together and strictly focus on their training sessions as scheduled to well conduct assigned tasks at the expo’s opening ceremony.
