Reports delivered at the meeting reviewed that the whole military strictly maintained combat readiness, closely managed airspace, waters, borders, inland areas, and cyberspace; promptly advised and handled military and defense situations effectively; coordinated to maintain political security, social order, and safety across the country, helping the people celebrate the lunar New Year in joy and happiness.

The military reinforced combat readiness forces in key areas, organized patrols, and tightly controlled borders and entry points; resolutely and persistently fought against foreign ships violating Vietnamese waters and took measures to prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Communication was well ensured. The border guard and coast guard forces actively combated crime, smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeiting before, during, and after the lunar New Year. More than 3,400 officers and soldiers were deployed, along with 160 vehicles, to participate in search and rescue operations for 44 incidents, saving 4 people in some localities.

Units in charge of fireworks displays during the lunar New Year's Eve pro-actively collaborated to organize fireworks shows in 62 provinces and cities, creating a joyful atmosphere for the people during the holiday.

Together with holding cultural and sports activities for troops and people during the lunar New Year, agencies and units fostered dissemination about the 95th anniversary of the foundation day of the Party and the implementation of emulation movement to welcome the lunar New Year.

Military press agencies closely coordinated with central and local media outlets to actively disseminate military and defense work and troops and locals’ New Year celebration. They pro-actively worked with local party committees and authorities to disseminate information and mobilize local people to strictly observe the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on building the cultural life in local communities. More than 350 programs were organized for people in border areas and on islands, for workers and those in difficult circumstances.

Addressing the event, the Defense Minister acknowledged and praised the results achieved by all officers and soldiers, militia force during the lunar New Year 2025. Regarding important upcoming tasks, General Giang required all officers and soldiers to continue maintaining strict combat readiness, accurately assessing and forecasting situations, and promptly advising and handling military and defense situations in a timely and effective manner.  

He also called for increased control to prevent illegal immigration and smuggling at borders and at sea, while maintaining naval and coast guard forces in key maritime areas. The recruitment of new soldiers for 2025 should be conducted rigorously and safely.

General Giang stressed the importance of completing the merger of units and agencies according to plans and ensuring that Party congresses at all levels, especially the Congresses of the Party Organizations of Military Region 3 and the Navy, are well-prepared and organized effectively. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for the completion of drafts for the documents of the 12th Military Party Congress. 

He urged for continuous improvement in political and ideological education and to strengthen efforts in combating wrongful and hostile viewpoints. Agencies and units should fully implement the defense diplomacy plans for 2025, ensuring self-sufficiency in logistics, technical work, and defense industry.
