Reportedly, in September, the GS directed the whole military to synchronously take measures and successfully accomplish assigned tasks. The whole military strictly maintained combat readiness, actively grasped situations, and handled any arising issues.
The naval, border guard, and coast guard forces enhanced patrols, inspections, and control activities in border and maritime areas; prevented illegal entry and exit; and resolutely handled foreign vessels violating Viet Nam’s waters, contributing to ensuring safety for maritime economic activities. The military organized training, exercises, and competitions in accordance with plans while maintaining forces and vehicles on standby for search and rescue missions, promptly responding to natural disasters and incidents.
Concluding the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the achieved outcomes, pointed out shortcomings, and requested the whole military to continue strictly maintaining combat readiness and closely monitoring key areas.
The general requested the GS to direct Military Region 4, Army Corps 12, and the Ha Noi Capital Command to strictly organize exercises; strengthen patrols and control measures to prevent illegal entry and exit activities and sabotage acts by hostile forces in border and maritime areas.
He also required agencies and units to strictly implement flight safety measures and closely manage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other flying devices. The entire military must enhance cyberspace management and ensure smooth operation of communications, cryptographic, and topographic information systems.
The GS chief also directed the continued implementation of the Viet Nam People’s Army organizational adjustment plan for the 2021-2030 period, along with projects on ensuring weapons and technical equipment for unmanned vehicle forces during the 2026-2030 period and subsequent years.
He requested units to organize training, education, and competitions in line with programs; maintain regularity, discipline, and traffic safety; and prepare documents for live-fire exercises of Military Region 4, Army Corps 12, and the Ha Noi Capital Command.
Agencies and units were also required to strengthen electronic warfare reconnaissance in key areas, closely monitor cyberspace and important military and defense information systems, promptly and effectively handle arising situations.
