Under the 2026 cooperation program on dissemination about the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA) between the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and Viet Nam Television (VTV), the GDP has been tasked with leading the joint production and broadcast of 20 episodes about Uncle Ho’s soldiers on VTV1 this December.

To fulfill this task, the Department of Political Education and Information has coordinated with VTV’s Television Film Center, the Viet Nam Coast Guard, the Commando Corps, and other relevant agencies and units to conduct three rounds of field surveys and develop concepts and script outlines. The planned filming locations include Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, and several areas under Military Regions 3 and 5.
The script was evaluated as featuring an engaging storyline with significant communication and educational value, portraying the bravery, strength, mission, and peacetime duties of the VPA, particularly through images of commando and coast guard forces.
Concluding the conference, Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To praised the Department of Political Education and Information for its pro-active and effective coordination with relevant agencies and units in implementing the plan. He also urged the film crew and relevant units to continue refining the script. Through the TV series “The Sun Never Sets,” it is essential to vividly portray military personnel who, whether serving on the frontline, at sea, or carrying out quiet duties, remain steadfast in upholding the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new era: loyalty, resolve, humanity, and dedication to people. The series is expected to bring the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers to audiences nationwide, helping the public gain a better understanding of the functions and missions of the coast guard and commando forces, while honoring the military’s values and contributions to national construction and defense.
Regarding production, the general instructed the lead agency and relevant units to continue reviewing the whole plan, clearly defining the content, timelines, key milestones, and responsibilities, pro-actively coordinating and rigorously executing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, effectiveness, and safety.
For the film’s content and visuals, he urged the director, production crew, and consulting experts to ensure that military conduct, regulations, and discipline are accurately portrayed. The film should also realistically depict the close ties between the military and people, thereby enhancing its authenticity, credibility, and communication value.
