During the visits, unit commanders briefed the delegation on political security and social order in the areas where they are stationed, as well as on their performance of tasks to date.
Speaking to the unit commanders, General Cuong praised their achievements in implementing higher level instructions and assigned missions. All units have overcome difficulties pertaining to combat readiness and training missions. They have all also collaborated with the local authorities and people to undertake mass mobilization, participated in the movement "Army joins hands to build new-styled rural areas", as well as helped locals do business.
However, the senior officer also stressed that in the Central Highlands, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces are strategic areas of the country and major targets for hostile forces. Therefore, he urged unit commanders to heighten revolutionary vigilance for their troops to fight against hostile plots. This will aid in conducting external affairs activities along border areas, firmly protecting and promptly dealing with emergent issues along the border.
