To achieve even better results in 2025 than in 2024, he emphasized that the entire military must thoroughly grasp and strictly, effectively implement the “Three focuses, Three drastic actions” as directed by Party General Secretary and Secretary of the Central Military Commission (CMC) To Lam at the CMC’s 14th conference, and the instructions of the Prime Minister at the recent mid-year whole military politico-military conference 2025, 16 key tasks set out by the CMC for the 2021-2026 period and other high-level conclusions.
The Chief of the General Staff directed agencies and units to pro-actively enhance research capacity, situational assessment to provide strategic advice to higher levels to develop appropriate military and defense strategies for both short-term and long-term Fatherland safeguarding.
He also urged them to strictly observe combat readiness regulations, closely monitor and manage the nation’s airspace, water, borders, internal territory, and cyberspace, especially in key areas, to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
They should also make adjustments on defense and operation plans in accordance with the new administrative boundaries. In addition to continued renovation and breakthrough-making in training and unit-building, they should enhance night and intensive training, master provided weapons and equipment, and finalize training documents and curricula in line with practical realities and the military’s new organizational structure.
