General Staff reviews whole-military staff work in 2024
PANO - Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong chaired the conference on December 27 to review the staff work in the whole military in 2024.
According to reports delivered at the event, in 2024, the whole military strictly observed combat readiness; managed the air, sea, border areas, the mainland, and cyberspace; adjusted and supplemented operational documents in a timely manner to enhance combat readiness capabilities; upheld training and education activities; provided sound cryptographic services; and ensured security in transferring and receiving secret documents via software on the military data transmission network, among others.

In his remarks, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the outstanding achievements obtained by the whole military in training and combat readiness over the past time; requiring them to enhance the ability to study, forecast, evaluate, and follow situational developments to give strategic advice to the Party, State, CMC and MND to issue guidelines and policies to flexibly handle circumstances in a timely manner.
He stressed that the whole military must maintain strict combat readiness; firmly manage the sky, the sea, border areas, and cyberspace; coordinate in ensuring security for the country and military’s important events; and allocate forces for combat tasks and study combat strategies and organize specialized forces at each level to effectively counter unmanned aerial vehicles and high-tech warfare.
The GS chief called for the whole military to focus on raising the quality of training and education, intensifying night training, mobile exercises, and intensive training under all conditions; and enhancing troops’ capability to master weapons and equipment, especially new and improved ones, to name but a few.
