In his remarks, Commander of the ADAF Service Major General Vu Hong Son emphasized that over the past six decades, the air defense missile force has constantly developed and become a modernized corps.
He recalled that during the past fierce resistance war, in the spirit of “daring to fight, mastering the art of combat, and determined to win,” air defense missile troops exerted relentless effort, overcame difficulties and hardships and developed numerous typical combat tactics, thereby contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s art of war.

He highlighted their continuous feats-of-arms, stressing their triumphs over the enemy both day and night, shooting down different types of enemy aircraft, and capture of experienced pilots. The more intense the battles became, the more the revolutionary heroism of the air defense missile force was promoted, shining the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in safeguarding the nation’s skies.
In the ongoing Fatherland building and protection cause, the force has upheld the spirit of self-resilience, pro-activeness, creativity in managing materials, technical equipment, developing the force, and improving the quality of combat training. Together with strict discipline observance, and force regularity building, it has also concentrated on building comprehensively-strong, exemplary and typical units.

The air defense missile force has proven itself a powerful strike force in the air and a key force of the people’s air defense posture to safeguard the Fatherland, Gen. Son noted.
Addressing the event, Gen. Hien congratulated the air defense missile force and the ADAF Service for their prominent accomplishments. He directed that to fulfill all assignments, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the ADAF Service should concentrate on streamlining the force in an elite, compact and strong manner. He urged the entire Service to be pro-active in doing research, active in innovating training contents and methods and applying scientific and technological advances, as well as continuously improve the quality of training, capacity and combat readiness, thereby building a comprehensively-strong, exemplary and typical Service.
