GDP’s leader highlights Viet Bac Base’s young volunteers’ contributions
PANO -Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, authorized by the Minister of National Defense, chaired a meeting with a delegation of former young volunteers of the Viet Bac Revolutionary Base on August 2 in Hanoi.

At the meeting, General Can inquired after and presented gifts of the Ministry of National Defense to the attendees.
He emphasized that in the resistance war against French colonialists, at the Viet Bac Base, young volunteers, together with other forces, directly implemented the missions of building infrastructure, protecting and serving the central headquarters while getting involved in combats, ensuring smooth transportation, building depots, and transporting weapons, military equipment and supplies, making positive contributions to the national salvation cause.
General Can also informed the attendees of the troops’ training, combat readiness and gratitude activities over the past time, saying that these activities have helped improve the material and spiritual lives of revolution contributors and at the same time educate troops, especially young officers, about the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Gratitude is a sign of noble spirit”.
On behalf of the delegation, Head of the Liaison Board of the Viet Bac Base’s Former Young Volunteers Nguyen Anh Nhuong thanked leaders of the GDP and other functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP for their consideration and deep sentiment for the delegation.
