In Lai Chau, the provincial authorities surveyed a site in San Bay village, in Muong Than commune for a new resettlement area following a decision issued on July 19 by the provincial People’s Committee. Plans include 24 resettlement houses, each having an area of 60 square meter and an estimated construction cost of VND 400 million.

On July 19, the Lai Chau Provincial Military Command deployed 350 personnel to search for missing people, evacuate 219 households with 1,256 residents in Noong Thang village, Muong Than commune and their property to safety, clear thousands of cubic meters of mud and debris from National Highway 32, and restore flood-affected areas.

In Son La province, more than 900 regular soldiers and militia members, supported by over 20 vehicles, pro-actively overcame consequences of the recent flooding. They cleared over 2,000 cubic meters of mud from more than 20 km of roads, repaired over 60 houses, and assisted local authorities in relocating residents from high-risk areas.

Also on July 19, the Lao Cai Provincial Military Command mobilized 933 personnel and over 25 vehicles. The forces removed 3,500 cubic meters of mud from 77 houses, and repaired more than 35 km of landslide-damaged roads, alongside other critical infrastructure.
