The report presented at the meeting emphasized the termination of Trade Union organizations at military administrative agencies and units fully funded by the state budget; the continuation of Trade Union organizations in military-run enterprises and units with financial autonomy; and the maintenance of the current structure of the Defense Trade Union Board, which functions as the advisory body for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and directly under the guidance of the GDP.
In his remarks, Gen. Minh emphasized the need to strictly grasp and actualize Regulation 334 of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on political agencies within the VPA, and the regulations concerning Military Trade Union activities. He directed efforts to ensure effective leadership and guidance for all trade union activities. In the immediate term, the focus should be on revising the Military Trade Union regulations and organizing training courses and thematic conferences for trade union officials, especially grassroots-level trade union presidents, with emphasis on Trade Union operations and financial management.
The same day, the Central Military Commission’s Steering Committee 35 held a mid-year meeting to review task performance in the first six months of this year and map out tasks for the remainder of the year under the chair of Deputy Chief of the GDP and Deputy Head of the Standing Board of Steering Committee 35 Lieutenant General Truong Thien To.
