The event saw the attendance of Major General, Dr. Duong Minh Hai, Director of the Department of Military Science; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Bui The Duy, President of VNU; and Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Bao Son, Vice President of VNU.

During the session, the two sides agreed on orientations for cooperation in researching and developing key technological fields, thereby contributing to enhancing technological autonomy and meeting the military’s modernization requirements in the new situation.

Highly evaluating VNU as one of the country’s leading research centers, Major General Duong Minh Hai expressed his desire to establish a close and long-term cooperation mechanism to accelerate the mastery of technologies serving defense tasks. The cooperation will focus on areas, such as artificial intelligence and data for command and control, simulation technology, cyber security, and quantum technology.

The general also suggested that both sides coordinate flexibly and effectively by forming interdisciplinary research groups, implementing scientific tasks under a product-based contracting mechanism, and enhancing the sharing of data, resources, and high-quality human resource development.

For his part, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Bui The Duy expressed high agreement with the discussed contents, particularly the orientation to strengthen research cooperation and master strategic technologies based on practical linkage and ordering.
