Funded by Corps 20 with an investment of VND 49 billion, the Tan Dong Primary School project features 20 classrooms, an administrative building, a multi-purpose hall, and supporting infrastructure for nearly 700 students. This key project reflects the commitment of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to supporting education in disadvantaged border areas.
General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the project demonstrates the Party, State, and Military’s focus on local livelihoods, strengthening the bond between the military and the people. He noted that the Communist Party of Vietnam prioritizes education and training as national pillars, highlighted by Politburo’s Resolution No.71-NQ/TW.

The GDP’s Chief urged Dong Thap authorities to coordinate closely with Corps 20 and contractors, treating the project as a priority for 2026. He requested that construction and design units ensure quality, progress, and absolute safety. On this occasion, General Nghia and Corps 20 leaders presented 200 gifts to policy families and disadvantaged students, offered incense at war cemeteries, and visited the family of late General Le Van Dung, former GDP’s Chief.

Previously, General Nguyen Trong Nghia led a GDP delegation to work with Regiment 10 of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, Military Region 7. After inspecting the unit, the General praised its achievements and instructed Regiment 10 to continue implementing defense directives, maintaining combat readiness, and organizing rigorous training.
He highlighted the need for effective political work, morale monitoring, and unity within the unit. Marking the 60th anniversary of Regiment 10 (April 15, 1966 - 2026), General Nghia congratulated the personnel and expressed confidence that they would uphold the heroic traditions of Rung Sac Commando Unit 10. The delegation also offered incense at the Memorial Site for Heroic Martyrs of Rung Sac War Zone.
