Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Council, chaired the meeting. 

At the session, representatives of the standing agency reported on the appraisal of dossiers and achievements of collectives and individuals nominated for the titles. Since the beginning of 2026, agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense have submitted dossiers recommending the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces for the resistance war period, and the titles Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and Hero of Labor for the renewal period.

Information on all proposed cases was publicly posted on the ministry’s official portal. After the publication period ended, the standing agency collected feedback from organizations and individuals and finalized the dossiers in accordance with regulations.

Based on the reviewed documents and report from the council’s secretariat, delegates discussed the appraisal and verification process, assessed the achievements of nominees, and further clarified the legal grounds and criteria to ensure that all recommendations were rigorous, objective, and compliant with regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Sr. Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To commended the standing agency for its preparations and the constructive opinions of council members. He stressed that the review and recommendation process demonstrated the Party, State, and military’s recognition and gratitude toward collectives and individuals with exceptionally outstanding achievements.

The GDP’s deputy chief directed the standing agency to fully incorporate comments raised at the meeting, continue refining the report to better highlight achievements, and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to complete dossiers for qualified candidates before submission to competent authorities. He also emphasized that the process must be serious, objective, accurate, and persuasive, thereby strengthening confidence and consensus among officers, soldiers, and the public.
