Defense senior officers get ranks promoted

Accordingly, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Ngo Minh Tien and Political Commissar of the National Defense Academy Luong Dinh Hong were promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council and Commander-in-chief of the People’s Armed Forces, handed over the promotion decisions to the officers at the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated the two officers on their ranks promotion. He affirmed that the promotions were to recognize contribution of the two senior officers to the national construction and defense cause. He noted that Senior Lieutenant Generals Ngo Minh Tien and Luong Dinh Hong are outstanding servicemen of the Party, State, and military. They are well-trained and experienced officers who have gained remarkable achievements in their task performance, he stressed.

The State President hoped that the two senior officers will maintain their political stance, continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity and make greater efforts to fulfill their assigned tasks in the time to come.

On behalf of the two officers, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien expressed his thank to the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, and promised to observe higher levels’ directives, increasingly enhance their capabilities and fulfill all assigned missions in any circumtances.
