High-ranking military officers promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General
PANO – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and State President Nguyen Phu Trong handed over the promotion decisions to two high-ranking military officers at a solemn ceremony on October 26 at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

Accordingly, Deputy Directors of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) Tran Quang Phuong and Do Can have been promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.
At the event, Trong, who is also the Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council, and chief of the armed forces, congratulated the two generals on their promotion.
On behalf of the newly promoted officers, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong expressed the honor of receiving the promotion. He highly appreciated the leadership and education from the Party, State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as the care and support of the central and local agencies and people.
Phuong emphasized that the promotion is not only an honor for the promoted officers, but also a great responsibility entrusted by the Party, State, and people. He promised to continue studying and being always ready to fight and sacrifice for national independence and freedom, socialism, and happiness of people. The Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics added that the newly promoted officers will try their best to deserve to be high-ranking officers of the VPA and Uncle Ho’s soldiers and the trust of the Party, State, and people.
At the ceremony, Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics General Luong Cuong, and representatives from ministries and agencies congratulated the two promoted officers.
