Defense Ministry meets military N.A. deputies
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister, chaired the Defense Ministry’s meeting on October 7 in Hanoi with the National Assembly (N.A.) deputies who work for the military before the ninth session of the 14th National Assembly.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, military N.A. deputies, and representatives from agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.
Speaking at the meeting, General Chiem praised agencies for proactively, actively, and effectively building and revising bills and draft resolutions to submit to the 14th National Assembly’s 10th meeting and updating N.A. deputies on those documents.
Acknowledging the enthusiastic and responsible comments on the Defense Ministry-built draft law and resolutions of military N.A. deputies, General Chiem asked concerned agencies to take note of all the comments and feedback at the meeting to complete the documents before sending them to N.A. deputies.
He added that the 10th meeting of the 14th National Assembly will discuss a number of important issues related to defense and security, so the military N.A. deputies should prepare constructive and persuasive speeches to clearly reflect the viewpoints of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense. They were urged to heighten their responsibility and democratic spirit during discussions and strictly exercise regulations of the N.A. and the Ministry of National Defense to contribute to the success of the meeting.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien briefed delegates on the results of the building of the Vietnam Border Guard Law. At the ninth meeting of the National Assembly and the 47th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee, N.A. deputies and the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed on the Draft Law on Border Guard.
Defense leaders updated delegates on domestic, regional, and international situations and the outcomes of Party Congresses at all levels in the military and the 10th Military Party Congress. Relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense briefed the participants on their preparations of bills and draft laws to submit to the National Assembly for approval.
