PANO - Working missions of the Ministry of National Defense and Hanoi City held a conference on November 26 to review their coordination in implementing military and defense missions in combination with socio-economic development in the Capital of Hanoi.
Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Defense Minister, and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung co-chaired the event.
According to reports delivered at the conference, under the instruction of the two missions, the Hanoi Capital Command and military agencies and units in the city have recorded significant achievements in military and defense implementation and socio-economic development. The units effectively realized the Party’s resolutions and directives and the State’s policies and laws on military and defense as well as the building of a sustainable, civilized, and modern Hanoi.
In addition, the working missions actively exchanged information and agreed on a coordination mechanism to manage the land used for national defense in the locality. Military units in the city helped local people build roads and dredge irrigation canals and presented gifts to around 32,000 policy beneficiaries. Meanwhile, Hanoi invested VND 411 billion to build five projects for training and combat readiness missions of the Hanoi Capital Command.
Regarding key missions for next year, the two sides agreed to continue working together to realize directives of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and the municipal Party Committee.
Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense and Hanoi will thoroughly embrace and effectively implement the Party’s resolutions and directives and the State’s policies on the implementation of military-defense missions in combination with socio-economic development in the locality. They will also pay attention to building Hanoi into a firm defensive area to be on par with its potential and strength. The two sides will build a strong Party organization of the Hanoi Capital Command and comprehensively strong military agencies and units which are absolute loyal to the Party, nation, and people.
At the event, the missions reached a high consensus on investing in personnel training for the Hanoi Capital Command and military units in the city following Decree 165 signed on December 24th 2016, so as to fulfill all approved projects.
