Defense Minister works with General Department of Logistics
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang chaired a working session between the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Logistics (GDL) on February 28.
Having heard reports on the outcomes of the task performance of the GDL last year, the defense chief applauded the general department and logistic agencies at all levels for their active weathering of difficulties, promotion of self-resilience spirit and provision of logistics supplies for training, combat readiness and other tasks.

The GDL was also hailed for pro-active coordination with the General Department of Technical Services (GDT) and related agencies and good recommendations on rearrangement of logistics-technical forces. Attentively, it carried out a number of close-to-reality and practical measures and reaped good results in digital transformation, administrative reform, external affairs in the area of logistics, and the emulation movement “Military logistics sector follows Uncle Ho’s teachings.”
Gen. Giang asked the GDL to continue giving advice, make forecast of domestic, regional and global developments of situations; review one year of merging tactical logistics-technical agencies in terms of organization and personnel; prepare for the merger of the GDL and the GDT into an elite, compact, strong unit capable of completing all assignments, meeting military, defense mission requirements and military building tasks as planned.
The Defense Minister requested the GDL to make thorough preparations for major events in the year, particularly the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defense Festive Day, as well as the second Vietnam International Defense Expo.
