Defense Minister offers incense at Bach Dang Giang relic site
PANO – Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich paid tribute to war martyrs and fallen soldiers on October 27 at the Bach Dang Giang (Bach Dang River) relic site in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city on the occasion of the 75th traditional day of the Military Region 3.

The event also saw the attendance of Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Chief of the VPA’s General Staff Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, and Hai Phong city’s Party Secretary Le Van Thanh.
At the relic site, the delegation offered incense in tribute to national heroes who defeated foreign invaders in three famous battles in the Bach Dang River in 938, 981, and 1288.
The Bach Dang Giang historical relic site, which was recognized as a national relic in 1962, is located in the Trang Kenh Scenic Landscape Complex and in the Bach Dang River. The place witnessed three great naval battles and symbolized Vietnam’s undauntedness in protecting the nation from aggressors.
Annually, the relic site attracts a large number of visitors from inside and outside the country who visit to learn more about the nation’s glorious history.
On the occasion, General Lich and the Ministry of National Defense’s delegation also offered incense at the temple in dedication to President Ho Chi Minh in the relic, and planted trees at the relic site.
