At the event, GDT Director Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc briefed the delegation on the outcomes of the whole military technical sector in 2022. Particularly, the general department provided timely advice and promptly implemented the resolution of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission on reviewing the 15-year implementation of Resolution 382 on leading the technical affairs in the current context; and deployed key tasks for the 2021-2026 period.
The GDT directed its affiliated units to ensure sufficient quantity, quality and synchronous technical equipment for all tasks; applied new technologies to maintaining, storing technical equipment, and testing technical materials as scheduled. Along with that, the unit has well performed its task of presiding over the assessment and acceptance of projects for procurement, production, improvement and modernization of technical equipment.
On hearing the unit’s task performance, General Phan Van Giang applauded its outstanding achievements over the past time. He underlined that the task requirements for the whole military technical sector will be higher than last year. Therefore, he urged the general department to continue embracing higher levels’ instructions and resolutions on the national protection mission in the current context, especially tasks related to the technical affairs.
He urged the whole military technical sector to ensure adequate and good weapons and equipment for combat readiness, search and rescue, and other missions.
In addition, he urged the general department to improve its personnel’s capability while boosting production and repair capacity of its factories.
The defense minister required the unit to enhance research and improvement of materiel, contributing to meeting its task requirements.
Regarding the proposals and recommendations of the General Department of Technical Service at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang agreed with them and assigned the functional agencies to summarize and report to leaders of the Ministry of National Defense for consideration and decision.
