Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh chaired the event.

Prior to the deployment of the new model, command, management and operational activities at Depot KV1 were largely conducted manually. The information technology infrastructure and system security were limited, computers had low configurations, and system capacity was insufficient to meet the requirements of digital transformation.

An overview of the conference

In 2025, following the implementation of the project to develop a technology-based weapons and ammunition depot integrated with an automatic fire-fighting system, Depot KV1 underwent a comprehensive transformation. The new model ensures safety and accuracy while enabling smooth, rapid and flexible command and control from leadership levels and staff agencies down to individual duty positions in units directly performing tasks.

To date, Depot KV1 has completed 47 smart warehouses equipped with integrated automatic fire-fighting systems and installed nearly 400 surveillance cameras covering warehouses, patrol routes, guard posts and the technical area. Terminal devices such as large display screens and dedicated communications systems have been installed at the command and control center. These systems have proven effective in practical situations, including ammunition issuance and reception, detection of intrusions, and early detection and response to fires.

In his remarks, Deputy Defense Minister Le Huy Vinh commended the General Department of Logistics-Technical Services and the Department of Weapons and Ammunition for their pro-active coordination with relevant agencies to implement the project on schedule.

Delegates learning about the weapons and ammunition depot model of Depot KV1

He requested continued implementation of project tasks in accordance with progress and quality requirements, replication of the model across other weapons and ammunition depots managed by the Department of Weapons and Ammunition, and stronger application of technology and artificial intelligence to depot management and operations.

He also emphasized that the application of technology must ensure absolute information security, while technical personnel should actively improve their qualifications and master new technologies to operate and effectively exploit the model, meeting mission requirements in the ongoing digital transformation process.
