The activities were carried out on the occasion of the 81st founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 36th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day.

In Phu Dinh commune, the delegation offered incense and flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House on the summit of De Pass, in the Dinh Hoa Safe Zone special national historical site.

The delegation observes a moment of silence in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation expressed profound respect and gratitude for the great contribution of President Ho Chi Minh, the brilliant leader, great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, and beloved father of the armed forces. They pledged absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people; to build revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People’s Army; to maintain high vigilance; and to stand ready to fight and sacrifice, determined to join the entire Party, people, and military in firmly building and defending the Fatherland.

While in Phu Dinh commune, the delegation also offered incense and flowers to General Vo Nguyen Giap and planted a commemorative tree at the Pu Don Hill historical relic site. At this site, on May 28, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh presided over the ceremony announcing and presenting the decision to confer the rank of General on comrade Vo Nguyen Giap, Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam National Army and Militia Force.

On the same day, the delegation had a meeting at the hall of Pu Don Hill historical relic site during which they inquired after and presented the CMC, MND’s gifts to policy beneficiaries, typical national contributors of Phu Dinh commune.

Addressing the meeting, Gen. Chien expressed deep gratitude to wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ families, heroic Vietnamese mothers, national contributors of the commune and Thai Nguyen province.

The defense leader affirmed that these gratitude activities reflected the nation’s cherished traditions of “when drinking water, remembering the source” and “gratitude-paying,” and demonstrated care for the material and spiritual life of those who have devoted and sacrificed their blood for the Fatherland.

He expressed his belief that in the time ahead, the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Phu Dinh commune will continue to promote their revolutionary traditions, strengthen solidarity and creativity, and jointly build an increasingly civilized and prosperous new life. He also urged them to continue their cooperation with the armed forces to build and consolidate the whole people’s defense posture, closely coupled with a strong people’s security posture.
