This year’s exercise is co-hosted by Indonesia and the U.S.

AUMX-2 features naval vessels from eight ASEAN countries and the U.S. Three countries, namely Timor-Leste, Cambodia, and Laos, sent officers to join the event.

An overview of the opening of AUMX-2

Ship 09 of Brigade 171 under the Naval Region 2 Command, represents the Vietnam People’s Navy at the exercise. Running from December 10 to 13, AUMX-2 focuses on such key activities as information sharing, formation maneuvering, real-time coordinated incident response, and implementation of maritime security cooperation operations.

AUMX-2 is regarded as an important step in multilateral cooperation, aimed at enhancing coordination capabilities and ensuring maritime security and safety in the region.

Vietnam’s participation reaffirms the country’s active and responsible role in promoting maritime security cooperation and maintaining stability in the region.

Naval troops active in games

On the same morning, officers and sailors of Ship 09 took part in sports and cultural exchanges with the U.S. Navy and ASEAN navies. They engaged in sack racing, team-walking games, and others. These activities helped create a lively and friendly atmosphere to strengthen solidarity and bonds among participating navies.
