An overview of the working session |
Over the past time, the Party committees and chains-of-command of agencies and units in the military have thoroughly implemented plans to safeguard the 14th National Party Congress; well prepared and organized rehearsals of operational plans; regularly grasped the situation; and closely coordinated with relevant forces to maintain political security and social order and safety.
Units have strictly maintained combat readiness duties and deployed sufficient forces and equipment, fully prepared to carry out assigned missions.
To date, the assigned agencies and units have basically completed all preparations, with forces and equipment ready to protect the 14th National Party Congress to ensure its success and safety.

During the working session, Gen. Cuong and his entourage inspected combat readiness and Party Congress protection tasks at the forward command post of the Ministry of National Defense; air defense forces of Division 301 under the Hanoi Capital Command; Electronic Warfare Brigade 84 of the Department of Electronic Warfare under the General Staff; Task-force Commando Brigade 1 under the Commando Corps, among others.
Concluding the inspection, Gen. Cuong highly praised agencies and units for their effective coordination and thorough preparations for safeguarding the 14th National Party Congress.

He asked them to continue strengthening education and information dissemination to raise troops and employees’ awareness of the importance of the Congress, the functions and tasks of the military, and the significance of combat readiness missions, heightened vigilance and firm determination to undertake and successfully accomplish assignments.
The defense leader urged units to pro-actively grasp situation, accurately assess and forecast complex developments of situations, especially in maritime areas, islands, border and strategic areas, and on cyberspace. They should closely coordinate with relevant forces to resolutely defeat all hostile forces’ plots and acts of sabotage, and promptly and effectively handle situations.

The defense leader also asked them to strictly observe duty regulations, ensure safety of barracks, warehouses, military airports, and wharves; strictly manage troops, weapons, explosives, flammable and toxic substances; intensify fire and explosion prevention measures; review and adjust operational plans according to reality; and prepare sufficient forces, equipment, and synchronized, reliable communications systems for rapid deployment upon order.
He also asked for ensuring logistics supply for delegates to the Congress and for forces involved.
