PANO - Defence projects, in particular, and national ones, in general, will follow the directions of modern, green, environmental-friendly, energy-saving and Vietnamese culture-bearing architecture in the future, said the Director of the Design Institute under the Defence Ministry, Colonel Tran Manh Duc.

He told People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) at the opening ceremony at an exhibition titled “Vietnam’s green architecture heading for modern features and cultural identity” held on April 20th in Hanoi about the future architectural trends.

The event drew the participation of some 30 international and domestic architectural consultancy companies and designers.

“Green architecture becomes popular in the world and Vietnamese architecture should follow the trend. Defence architects have learnt worldwide experiences in green architecture and provided advice on appropriate architecture for defence projects,” he added.

Defence projects will be built after green-architecture models, he affirmed.   

According to the Director, the exhibition was a good chance for domestic architects and builders to further understand new trends and to consult modern and green architectural models, while it could also pass the “green architecture” message to the public and direct people to “green architecture” thinking and choices in the future.
